A campus service, from requirements to interface

Campus Lost & Found Application.

A campus Lost & Found application designed around a familiar frustration: information about a missing object is scattered, while the person searching for it needs a clear next step.

CONTRIBUTION

Requirements, use cases & process documentation

CONTEXT

Cross-disciplinary university team project

METHODS

SysML / UML / Requirements mapping / WBS & Gantt

Campus Lost and Found app interfaces for students and security personnel
01 / THE QUESTION

How can a campus make recovering an item easier while protecting private information?

02 / THE OBSERVATION

Students, security staff and administrators need different levels of access. A public item feed can help discovery without exposing the details used to verify ownership.

03 / THE APPROACH
  1. 01

Collaborated with Computer Engineering students to define functional and non-functional requirements.

  2. 02

Prepared use cases, a requirement hierarchy and process documentation, alongside project planning materials.

  3. 03

Mapped reporting, security-led matching, notifications, claims, ownership verification and final delivery.

04 / WHAT CAME OUT OF IT

A structured application concept, role definitions, interaction flow and project poster. In the final documented flow, security personnel match records and verify ownership before an item is returned.

05 / A REFLECTION

A useful service depends on the handoffs between people as much as the screens. The work connects a visible interface to the responsibilities and access rules behind it.
